Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary
Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the south west of Munger district, near Jamui district.
According to Mahabharata, Bheema, one of the Pandavas, constructed a dam (bandh) here and therefore it is called Bhimbandh, also known for the warm water source.
The forest covers an area of 681.99 km² on the hills and undulating tract of Kharagpur Hills. It is situated in the south of the Ganges river, at the northern edge of Chota Nagpur Plateau and west of Santhal Pargana.
